*kaff, kaff, kaff*
*kaff, kaff, kaff*
Today is promising to be a busy day. I’ve got tons of house stuff — laundry, dishes, moving furniture, killing bad guys….
Well, ok that last one is more in line with CoH. But, its MY forced vacation — I’ll do with it what I want. After I do the dishes, though.
still have a metric craptonne of Yulish stuff to do. Plus, the dinner party on Thursday. I cannot believe that my birthday has swung around again. Good gravy, I am old. *ducks the shoe thrown by Tam*
Hah, ya missed!
Drat, she’s a two-fisted shoe-flinger.
At any rate, I’m off to do something about the horror that is the laundry. Apparently, working 50+ hours a week for several weeks means that it falls behind in its clothes-warshing. (No! Not the hose! I’ll wash the gorram clothes!)
*pauses, re-reads that last sentence*
I think I may be the only person who could slash Firefly and Silence of the Lambs.
*thinks on that some*
No, I don’t want ANY links to others who may have already done so. I’ve already had my squick this month – thanks goes out to flemco for the zit-popping link.
Wish me luck on the whole housecleaning-laundry-cookie baking thing. And if I’m not back by dawn….call the President.
I love this time of year. I love the spirit of giving that pervades my family and friends. Eggnog reappears in groceries. My cat lays in the sunshine and gazes green contentment at me. People’s houses smell of juniper, vanilla, cedar and cinnamon. The air outside is blue with wintry sunlight. Its beautiful.
But, so many people just seem to lose their freaking minds at this time of the year as well. Obnoxiously in-your-face religious nut-jobs irritate me any time of the year. Christmas, Yule, Hannukah, The Return of the Atlantean Space Dragons…whatever you celebrate – keep it to yourself if I don’t ask, mmkay? You can feel deeply and be content in whatever Aspect you worship, without giving me the minutiae.
If I relate an interest, that’s different. I have opened that door and you are most welcome to come in and chat. I’ll likely have coffee and struedel to share as well. We can discuss our commonalities and our differences without stress. If however, you feel compelled to harp to me about the Appendages of Doom that are right now being heralded by the alignment of the planets or because so-and-so behaved thus-and-such; well, I’m just gonna cross you off the card list.

OMG, its an AMAZING house. Huge, with a private den w/fireplace. Lots of space for gaming, movies, crafts, books, books, more books, computers, people, kitchen gear, and did I mention the book space?
They want the first months full rent x’s two for the deposit. Argh! That’s ALOT of dough. I can (probably) cover it. But no-one aside from the Girlie is gonna get Xma$ prezzies this year. If we move back into town, it will *eat* that money pretty effectively.
This is not counting the many fine dollars that are going to be required to cover the expenses of moving, the turning on of utilities, and the paying off of debts (like if we owed something to a previous utility company or something along those lines) that happens when you move.
